If you encounter the error "INVALID_PAYMENT_METHOD" in a Subscription’s cycle, this typically indicates that the saved payment method can no longer be used.
Why does this happen?
The most common reason is that the customer has unlinked or removed the payment method. For example, if the customer was using ShopeePay, they might have unlinked it from their Shopee app, which causes the payment method to become invalid on our end.
What can you do?
To resolve this issue, we recommend the following steps:

Make the existing Plan inactive
Stop the current subscription plan that encountered the issue. -
Create a new Plan and ask your customer to link a new payment method
This ensures a clean setup and avoids potential complications with previously invalid payment methods. -
Alternatively, update the payment method on the same Plan
If you prefer to keep using the same Plan, you can update the payment method directly to one that is still valid, and ask your customer to link to the new payment method
By taking these steps, you can ensure smooth subscription renewals and avoid disruption in your customer’s billing cycle.
