Yes, even though your account is not activated you can try our Subscription product in TEST/development mode. 

Here are the things that you need to do:

1. Generate your API Key, and make sure that you put "Write" permission for Money-In product
2. Set up your callback for Subscription on the Callback Tab
3. Follow the instructions for creating a Subscription Transaction via API here
